Jeremort

It is my unshakable conviction that Jeremy Irons should play Lord Voldemort.

Yes, he is a cliché baddy. But hey, it's Jeremy. He's tall, he's thin, he can put on an evil glare like anything, and-

he would play Alan's and Jason's master.

I'd pay good money to see that.

You are not alone!

Mmmmmm.

Bad, bad thoughts.

And what fuel for (even more) illicit Master & Servant games this would be!

Bad thoughts indeed.

Jeremy Irons ... playing Alan's and Jason's master...

Oh god. Oh my. I think that's the hottest image I have ever pictured.

Heh! Just imagine all this, ah, chemistry on screen.

...And the spontaneous combustions in the audience.

oh, yessss

That'd just make up for what-they-did-with-Remus.

Nooo! I want him for Karkaroff!!! Walking with Snape during the Yule Ball... Stuff of dreams.

[identity profile] donnaimmaculata.livejournal.com 2004-01-20 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but Karkaroff hasn't got much screen time. And in the movie, he will have even less.

Voldemort, on the other hand, will rage and torture in four films to come.

Walking with Snape during the Yule Ball...

Mmh... okay... I see your point *fans self*

Actually, while watching Jeremy Irons on "Inside the Actor's Studio" on BRAVO, I decided he was my image of Sirius -- he has the 'beautiful, but wrecked' quality, and would match up quite well against Rickman's Snape...

I still have no idea who could play Voldemort -- you need someone able to project presence and malevolence without turning absurd, and that's not as easy as it would seem.

[identity profile] donnaimmaculata.livejournal.com 2004-01-20 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
He's never been my Sirius of choice, but I think that's mostly because he's too old. Then again, so is Alan. Hm.

and would match up quite well against Rickman's Snape...

This is so very true. They would convey exactly the chemistry I appreciate about Severus and Sirius.

But - I'm afraid I wouldn't survive Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons portraying my favourite slash pairing.

Voldemort is indeed difficult. you need someone able to project presence and malevolence without turning absurd - that's why Jeremy sprang to mind. Sirius is already taken, after all.

What, afraid your brain would melt?

Of course, Jeremy Irons has already made fun of the HP movies by participating in the spoof, so who knows if they'll ever pick him up for any role now?

What, afraid your brain would melt?

Not merely my brain. There would be lots of melting going on, and only a sad puddle of goo would remain where I'd been sitting.

What spoof? Never heard of it.

They shouldn't be so squeamish and cast him despite of the spoof. Maybe I should tell them.

What spoof? Never heard of it.

The Comic Relief spoof from last year. Dawn French, the British comedienne who will be playing the Fat Lady portrait in PoA, plays Harry in the spoof. Guess who Irons played... [snerk]

I wished I could have watched it. I used to really like French and Saunders, back in those days when German TV was broadcasting the show.

And Jeremy as Snape is so - OMG! squeee - incoherence-inducing

Heh! We should start a support group. Irons for Voldemort. Or: Dark Lord Jeremy.

Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons together in one film. Now that is a long-standing wet dream fantasy of mine.

Malkovich is not even British.
