I like Ron, and I feel that Rowling doesn't do him justice. He started off quite well, as an equal of Harry and Hermione's in PS, but unfortunately, he has turned into a clueless sidekick. My impression as a reader is that he never contributes anything intelligent anymore. He is not named as having Auror potential by fake Moody, he runs away with ideas that seem silly and pointless. The movies only emphasise his uselessness (what with his lines being stolen by Hermione). I can't see Ron as a Seer, but that might be because he dislikes Trelawney and because he is so hopelessly mundane. Ron is such a boy - in our world, he would play computer games and save money for his own car. I think about everyone else in Gryffindor seems more like a Seer than Ron.
However, I would love if any of Ron's seemingly stupid ideas would come true, nevermind what. I would even embrace it if he ended up being right on Snape all along, and Snape turned out to be one of the bad guys. It's because I've got a great fondness for throw-away lines that become true as the story progresses. Hence my theory on Trelawney's words regarding Parvati becoming true in future.
