Favourite Fictional Characters
The Independent Online published a list of 100 favourite fictional characters, chosen by "100 literary luminaries". I find it interesting that almost all Jane Austen heroines are on there (not her heros, though). The answer I liked most was: "God. Polymorphic, unpredictable, unaccountable; omnipotent yet negligent, kind yet vicious. Suitable to any genre or period. Able to hold centre stage in plot, or work subtly in deep background. Never requires a deus ex machina. A character you can immerse yourself in, forever."
Hm. Kinda sounds like Dumbledore, doesn't he? Especially the "omnipotent yet negligent" bit.

"My name is Sheldon Jeffrey Sands. I'm suitable to any genre or period. I set them up, I watch them fall. I'm unaccountable."

I've only just realised - if Sands is God, this adds a whole new dimension to my Sands/Satan fic. Meta, I tell you, meta!

BTW, good to see you back! I've missed you for a while!

I know, I didn't post or comment for some two weeks. My brain felt all empty and I couldn't find anything to say. *shrugs* I've been reading my flist, though, so I'm not completely out of touch :-)
Sands is manipulating and unpredictable enough to be God. And he smites magnificently. Would this make El his Angel?
