How Harry Potter invaded the Discworld
The amazing
villainny did it! She did it! She wrote a Death/Sirius drabble, and it's oh, so beautiful.
For all you people out there who don't know Death: he's an anthropomorphic personification and, um, lives in the Discworld. For all you people who know Death: Go read!
The entire thread is full to bursting with wonderful, hilarious, darkish, witty HP/Discworld crossover drabbles, and even if you don't care for Pratchett, they're definitely worth reading.
I do care for Pratchett, and my first attempt at HP fanfiction was, in fact, a crossover. It didn't work for many reasons I
I tried to bring back Eskarina Smith - as we know the first girl ever to be admitted to the UU - and to make her a young Granny, characterwise. She turned into a Mary Sue instead, and when on top of everything Susan happened to bump into Snape, I though I might as well change the plot into American-transfer-students-with-mysterious-powers-come-to-Hogwarts-and-save-the-day. On the other hand: I don't think there has ever been a Mary Sue whose family was not dead but Death, has there? Has there?!
Anyway,
villainny's thread started me thinking on good crossover pairings for drabbles, and here they are:
Susan/Hermione. My guess is that Susan's opinion on Hermione equals her opinion on Vincent the Keen. You know, the kid who was making frantical 'ooo, ooo, ooo' noises and whom she'd privately marked down as The-Boy-Most-Likely-To-Be-Killed-By-His-Wife-One-Day (I'm paraphrasing). I like Susan.
villainny already wrote what I realised is my OTP: Rincewind/Greebo, but maybe some Rincewind/Dumbledore? Or Dumbledore/Ridcully.
Snape/The Bursar. Poor Bursar.
Dementor/Auditor
And yes, once again: Crookshanks/Greebo
Not exactly slash, but: Mrs. Norris/Death of Rats
Detritus/anyone. Not the HP troll, though. Detritus/Ron?
Nanny's very versatile. And she's already had this thing with Casanunda, so we know she's not squeamish. Nanny/a Goblin, Nanny/a Centaur (she would like this, I'm sure *g*)
That'll do for now. I'll go and have my brain checked, thankyouverymuch.
I might be absent from LJ for a few days. A friend is staying at my place and he will force me to turn my entire attention towards RL. Some people are quite inconsiderate.
