Date: 2010-01-04 08:18 pm (UTC)(Agreed about "Fledermaus" vs. "bat" - it's one reason you can't translate "Batman". *g*)

Date: 2010-01-04 08:25 pm (UTC)(That's probably the reason why they didn't translate the title of the operetta, either.)

Date: 2010-01-04 08:30 pm (UTC)The Cat once brought me a (sadly) dead bat, and it was amazingly fluffy. I would have never expected it to be so soft.

Date: 2010-01-05 11:51 am (UTC)The picture was named "fledermausschrubbschrub" when I found it, and I thought the name's most fitting.

Date: 2010-01-05 12:05 pm (UTC)Actually, I've considered wildlife fostering, but I don't know if I'd be any good at it. I believe you have to stay quite aloof, but at the same time be home constantly for regular feedings. I can give up my animals but I do get attached, and I also work fairly long hours. It's fine with the kittens, because I work different hours to Bill so there's not a huge overlap of time where nobody's home, but it's still too long for birds and the like. Oh well. Maybe when I'm older. :)
