it's obvious from canon that he has a dry sense of humour, and I've always thought of him as having a mischievous streak hidden beneath that calm exterior.
If I'm not entirely mistaken, Remus smiles in almost every scene we encounter him - apart from the battle at the Ministry. It's not always because he is genuinely amused, but the fact that he smiles when talking about the Dementors shows, IMO, that he deals with horrors with a twisted sort of humour.
And yeah, I fully agree with the mischievous streak. I don't at all think that being calm and polite and reserved equals shy and timid and not prepared to indulge in silly pranks. Remus knows about and legitimises Fred and Georges Extendable Ears. I'm sure he merely shrugs at such things and thinks, kids will be kids, and doesn't fuss about it because he knows what it's like to be in their situation.
the two eldest Weasley brothers need more attention in fanfiction in general, and I think R/B make a good match.
I like Bill, but he is somewhat difficult to write. There is so much we don't know about him, and it's temping to fill in the gaps randomly. I try to keep the balance between what we know from canon and fleshing Bill out for the fic.
