I secretly suspect that this is why I end up pairing Snape with Sirius and Remus so often - because writing from Snape's PoV enables me to drool over them.
On the other hand, Snape doesn't really like them, and he never says anything nice about either of them, so maybe this theory is utter bullshit.
I don't write Harry either way, which might have something to do with the fact that he is the hero of the novels. This means, we already know a lot about him anyway. We are in his head all the time, which, to me, makes him a less appealing character. Just like some people always go for the evil guy, I always go for the supporting cast.
