theatrical_muse, of course. Henceforth, I shall be known by the name of Sir Reginald Front-de-Boeuf - norman_bull to friends. It was a neck-and-neck race betwixt between Sir Reginald and Brian de Bois-Guilbert, but I decided to go for Reginald and thus be able to fancy Brian rotten.

And I really hope there will be some people around who are familiar with Ivanhoe, my slash novel par excellance. Now all I have to do is brush up my French, and brush up my Latin, and remember to type "thou" instead of "though". At least I'll have the chance to practice for the upcoming Ivanhoe slash, which I've been planning to write for months, and will give it a shot as soon as Remus, Sirius and Severus are satiated and leave me alone. I mean, Ivanhoe, right? All these buff males in armour and leather and playing with chains, and swords and... oh. And Brian de Bois-Guilbert, hottest character that Rickman's never played, is a Templar - member of the gayest gay Order that ever was (gayer than the one of the Phoenix and the Jedi put together). They're so begging to be slashed.

Um. Yes. Got a bit carried away there. I better go and look for an icon now...

I only discovered the slashy potential in hindsight, because when I read it at the age of 10, I focused more on the het romances in the book. What was your first slashy source, then?

Remus/James is of not much interest to me, either, but since I read almost everyone/Remus (unless it's Dobby or Hagrid or Dumbledore), I have been checking the Fuh-Q Fest archive occassionally. I'm sure you'll manage to create something truly enjoyable, though.

1984, bizarrely enough. Studied it for English Lit and was massively um intrigued...by the O'Brien/Winston interaction.

Yep, pretty much. It would be too easy to make it a 'nasty Filch abuses poor innocent Peter' thing so I'm hoping it succeeds in being more interesting than that.

Well the Remus/James is a little odd. I took an idea about the room of requirement not being guided by normal morality to work it around, I just hope it works out. Sort of an extension of the 'beware of magical things when you can't see where it keeps its brains' idea. What people need isn't always what's good for them / morally acceptable / what won't interfere with other things going on.

I think Ivanhoe is one of the books you've got to read at a very young age in order to learn to love it.

1984... If I'm not mistaken, there is some 1984 slash around. Might be worth having a look.

Peter/Argus is quite intriguing. If you follow the parallel to Neville that Harry saw when he heard Minerva talking about Peter 'tagging along', Peter might have felt as an almost-Squib, as well, especially in comparison with his dashing, clever friends. Peter and Argus as soul mates... *g*
