Parvati doesn't have much screen time, but she voices her opinion in several instances quite unabashed. Personally, I have no problem with her girly attitude: she's pretty and she likes Trelawney, but this doesn't make her a bad person. For the record, Hermione "oohs" just like all the other girls when Grubbly-Plank shows them the unicorns.
I think Rowling's strength is to sketch characters with a few well-chosen attributes and to generate immediate connotations with people the readers have known in real life. This is probably why we react so strongly to her characters. We instantly recognise certain behaviour patterns that either attrackt or annoy us.
