OK, is anyone else amused about Rowling's answer to the rumour about the chapter titled "Lupin's Papers"? I must admit I love the idea of the Pocket Crosswords of Severus Snape. Fic, anyone?
Me too. I don't understand why some people get themselves all worked up about her answers in interviews and reactions to rumours when it's so obvious that she's just being funny and good-humoured.
Oh, JKR always cracks me up. This? "...chuckles as the distant roars of a million shippers reach my ears, all cursing me to an eternity of unsatisfied curiosity". Priceless.
I imagine 'Pettigrew's Pamphlets' to be written while he was very young, covered with ink-blots and bad cartoons of Sirius, who he was clearly campaigning to get elected as Something Important.
The characters in HP should be far more inky, IMO. using ink is an incredibly messy business, as anyone who has used a fountain pen will know, and surely quills are messier than most.
Severus Snape entered the kitchen, hastily shoving something into his pockets. He frowned at the strange display in front of him.
"Tell me, Lupin, what the hell is he doing now?"
Lupin looked up from his papers and regarded the huge black dog chasing its tail with mild interest.
"I think Sirius's got a fit of the circulars, Severus," he said placidly.
"Hmmm..." Severus' frown deepened and he sneered a little, just in case. "You wouldn't happen to know a five-letter word for 'penetrate hospital department with hesitation', would you, Lupin?" he asked in an ostensibly offhand manner, pulling a piece of parchment from his pocket.
