Heh! Is there anyone else who thinks that Secret Window's Johnny Depp has the Lupin style dead on? Untidy hair and shabby clothes and all. He's even got a wand. And a better moustache.

Except for the glasses. And looking too young despite being older than Lupin. And maybe too slight. But otherwise everything fits.

He doesn't look like Lupin - but his style, hair and clothes-wise, just fits.

Good to see you're just as easily distracted when working as I am.

*goes back to writing and is really, really unavailable for anything else. Really*

You would be distracted, too, if you were working on a translation for your most hated, wankiest bastard customer. Who makes brewery equipment, which means I end up desperately wanting to run out and buy a case of beer every time I work for them - due to the wankiness and, well, the subject matter itself.

I am full of sympathy. Even though I don't even like beer. But drinking seems a good alternative right now: I'm writing about stainless steel tubes, which is about the most boring subject on earth. Apart from wires -which I had before. And just when I thought I was finished, I realised that the text was supposed to be half a page longer than I thought. About tubes. *retches*

No wonder Johnny keeps distracting me.

Well, beer means instant poundage for me, so I shouldn't drink it. That's why it's bad.

Hey, I can see Lupin with glasses! And I think he should be slight. Mmm. Good call, DI.

My bad, I'm already seeing him as Thewlis.

The wardrobe and make-up departments are the geniuses (genii?). They created the Lupin style on a man who's been frequently likened to Sirius by the fandom *g*

I like the hair, though. Mmh...

oh yeah, I love JD's hair in this movie - I just want to touch them! (very, very bad hair fetish, can't help it)

One more likeliness (?): from what I've read in an interview, JD was a cutter, therefore he has lots of scars *g*

You're right! Hey! Although, my Remus (is there any other variety? :-P) doesn't have scars. He wears his scars on the inside! (Tacky? Me?)

very, very bad hair fetish, can't help it

Yeah, me too. I love the fact that long(ish) hair is getting trendy again. All these cute young boys wear theirs long around here...

I don't mind Remus having scars, but does it have to be obvious claw marks? Makes you wonder about the general intelligence of the wizarding population if only Hermione can figure out that he's a werewolf.

Claw marks? Now, that is tacky. I never realised. Maybe they thougth, oh well, book!Harry keeps noticig the lines on Lupin's young face all the time, so we need something, like, really, really obvious, for even the thickest moviegoer to notice.

ARGH!!! You're right! But those are wrinkles that he's noticing!!!

*headdesks until unconscious*

Harry: Gosh, Professor Lupin, I've always thought these ugly scars of yours were merely really, really deep wrinkles.

*nods vigorously* oh yeah! lots of things to touch and feel and lose your fingers in - me likey! not too long though - JD's hair in Secret Window is perfect, IMO.

Oh my God, YES!
Few things equal the satisfaction of finding the perfect embodiment for a character that hitherto lived only in your head. :-)
I remember people had various suggestions for Remus and often I was even inclined to agree, but nothing ever looked as perfect as this.
I don´t mind that he doesn´t look care-worn enough. That´s a question of make-up and can be easily mended.
Thanks for finding and sharing this.
If it´s any consolation to you, plagued as you are by the stainless steel tubes, you just made my day!

Heh, he still doesn't look like my Remus, but the hair (oh, the hair) and the clothes are *so* right. I don't like the mouth, though.

The stainless steel tubes are done with, at last. Yay!
