donnaimmaculataIt is half past nine p.m., deadline's tomorrow, I've got three more pages to write and a total of seven pages to proofread, so what could be a better idea than surfing the Internet and checking the LJs of people who are better at managing their lives than I am?
Decided to do the HP meme that's been around for ages, just because I've never done it before. And because there's a whole long night between now and the deadline.

How did you get into Harry Potter?
I was visiting friends who gave me the book to keep me out of their way. More or less. Philosopher's Stone didn't do the trick, but PoA did.

Where were you on June 21st (release of the Fifth book)?
At home. I bought the book a couple of days later.
Who are your favourite characters?
Sirius, Remus, Minerva, Hagrid, for different reasons. Snape and Harry are growing on me.
Who are your favourite relatively minor characters?
I'm quite fond of Parvati Patil. Ginny, though she's not quite as minor any longer. She's about the only female character we've met with a sense of humour, and I really do appreciate that.
Favourite Professor?
Minerva McGonagall.
Have any HP merchandise?
Nope.
Do you relate to any characters?
Remus Lupin. And I think Parvati is the sort of young girl I probably used to be.
Do you look like any characters?
I don't think so. If I had to pick one, it'd be Fleur Delacour. Hey, I've got long blond hair and am generally considered attractive.
Do you act like any characters?
Remus Lupin. Calm, polite, excellent liar. Yep. That's me.
What is your favourite house?
Ravenclaw. I once read the following classification (I'm paraphrasing): Gryffindors - emotion-guided extroverts, Slytherins - intellect-guided extroverts, Hufflepuffs - emotion-guided introverts, Ravenclaws - intellect-guided introverts. I must say I like this much better than the ususal "brave - loyal - smart - ambitious" distinction.
Is there a house you absolutely hate?
No. I hate the way Slytherin is portayed, though.

Not real people, no. But sometimes characters from other novel.

Rowena Ravenclaw.
Do you really believe the statement "Not a witch or wizard in Slytherin doesn't go bad"?
I don't believe that's the correct quote in the first place. It's rather something along the lines of: "There's never been a witch or wizard that went bad that wasn't in Slytherin." And I don't believe that, either.
Do you really blame the founder of the house for all of the out- of-date prejudices that Slytherins seem to have?
I blame Dumbledore and people like Fred and George Weasley, who hiss at scared ten-and-eleven-year olds simply because the kids happen to be sorted into Slytherin. Of course the children will pick up the prejudices of the only house that accepts them!
Do you think that Draco Malfoy will actually redeem himself as many fandom folk try to portray him as doing?
No. I think JK Rowling will abuse him as Harry's antagonist to the bitter end.
Do you think that Professor Snape can actually go back to spying?
Depends on which level of spying. I don't think he will be hanging around Voldemort a lot, but it's well possible he makes use of his connections among Voldemort sympathisers and such.
Is there any character you would give your wand arm for, just to see them die?
No.
Is there any character that in the event of their death you would have no qualms about holding Rowling hostage until the author writes the next book and finds some way to bring them back?
Remus Lupin.

Decent spelling and grammar. Believable characterisation (Well. Characterisation I find believable.) An interesting story that holds the sex scenes together is always nice, too.

Ah, yes. I like Remus because he works for me as a character and he would, um, work for me as a real person too, whereas Sirius and Severus would probably get on my nerves very soon. But I love the dynamics between these two. I just find a Hate/Lust fic more interesting to read and write than a Friendship-Turned-Love one.
