So, the Silencing Charm is used in Hogwarts dormitories so that the students can indulge in some quiet wanking or shagging. But is that canon? I don't remember that sort of Silencing Charm existing in the books. (Also, I am not a great fan of it. If drowning out any sounds were that simple, Harry could easily prevent Ron from hearing his nightmares, and IIRC this is something he worries about in OotP.) The only Silencing Charm I can think of is the one cast on living creatures (bullfrogs and ravens) in Flitwick's class. Somehow, the idea of Harry and Ron casting Silencing Charms on each other before wanking each other off is oddly appealing. Has anyone ever used it in a fic? (Doesn't have to be Harry and Ron, though.)

I've seen it a couple of times in R/S fic, but not exactly as you're describing...only one partner was silenced. Silencio was used in place of a gag; the fics were (very) mild D/s kink.

Unfortunately, my brain is completely fried because I can't remember what they are called...

See, I don't remember having ever come across it. It's such an obvious choice, if you think about it, especially in D/s fics.

It really is strange for it to be so rare. *thinks* Then again, I prefer your scenario for using this spell to any kind of D/s one. For D/s, I like the visual image of the gag and the action of putting it in place. I don't see a silencing spell having that same overall effect...

But if Harry and Ron use a silencing spell on each other while messing around - unable to talk, but seeing the other's expressions - that would add something very hot and intimate to the scene. I really hope you do decide to write it! ^__^
